Mathilda Goike, Swedish mezzo-soprano, is currently a Young Artists at the National Opera Studio in London, UK, season 2025/26. She completed her master studies at Oslo Opera Academy in Norway last June and was awarded The Swedish Wagner Society’s Bayreuth Scholarship 2025.
This Spring Mathilda has performed scenes from both Massenet’s Werther and Donizetti’s La Favorita with the English National Opera Orchestra, together with NOS in partnership with Scottish Opera, directed by Rodula Giatanou and conducted by Richard Farnes. She has also performed Hermia in Brittan’s Midsummer Night’s Dream and Ursule in Berlioz’s Béatrice et Bénédict, also together with NOS in partnership with Welsh National Opera, directed by Ruth Knight and conducted by Bertie Baigent.
Autumn 2025 Mathilda performed scenes as both Idamante from Idomeneo and Sesto from La Clemenza di Tito at Opera North in Leeds together with NOS, directed by Lucy Bradley and conducted by Douglas Boyd. She has also performed Flosshilde in Das Rheingold at the Oslo Opera Festival, Franz von Suppé’s Requiem together with the Oslo Symphony Orchestra and Oslo Oratorio Choir, and ”Chaminade-Club” concert with only female composed music, lead by conductor Cathrine Winnes.
During her time at the Opera Academy, she has debuted as Olga in Eugene Onegin and Kastrubai in Glass’s Satyagraha at the Norwegian National Opera and Ballet. Her roles include the title role in Rinaldo, Jo in Mark Adamo’s Little Women, Polina Pikovaya dama, Charlotte Werther, Giovanna Anna Bolena, and Dalila Samson et Dalila, among others.
